Punjab has in store great business potential particularly in the MSME sector. Realizing this, the government is leaving no stone unturned to hold a four day event in Amritsar. The event is expected to set in motion industrial prosperity in Punjab. Christened ‘Destination Punjab’, the event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Punjab government during October 7-10, 2011.
The event showcases the state’s MSME sector and will help them ramp up their business. Kamna Raj Aggarwalla, Chairperson of CII, Punjab State, addressed the media recently saying that the event is a great platform for the state’s micro and small business units who would benefit from visiting delegates and corporate customers.
The event aims to bring fresh investments into Punjab and eventually help in the branding of the state’s MSME sector. Thus the state’s industrial growth is set to advance further. Rajat Agarwal, deputy commissioner of Amritsar, comments, “The decision to hold the event in Amritsar is perfect as it is soon going to become the gateway of Punjab.”
‘Destination Punjab’ will present products like engineering goods, farm equipment and machinery, auto and machine tools, textile and textile machinery, leather and sports goods. It would also promote small business units associated with tourism and hospitality industries. Further it would provide an arena for knowledge events and extensive business-to-government (B2G) interactive sessions between representatives from the international trade bodies and the Government of Punjab.
